This page explains how to request deletion of your tasko account (the app published by TASKO, tasko — Book Verified Taskers in Nepal) and the data associated with it.
You can delete your account yourself from inside the app at any time, or email us and we will do it for you.
This is the fastest way, and it takes effect immediately.
Your account is closed straight away, you are signed out of all devices, and you will not be able to sign in again with the same credentials.
If you cannot access the app or have already uninstalled it, send a deletion request to [email protected] with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
Please send the email from the address registered on your tasko account and include:
We may contact you to verify your identity before deleting the account, so that nobody else can close it on your behalf. We respond to verified requests within 30 days, and in most cases much sooner.
To protect you, the Taskers you work with, and any money in transit, an account cannot be deleted while it still has unfinished business. The app will show you a message if any of the following apply:
Finish, cancel, or settle these items first, then retry the deletion. If you are stuck, contact us and we will help you resolve it.
Administrator accounts cannot be deleted through this process. If you hold an admin account, contact us directly.
When your deletion request is processed, we remove or permanently anonymize the personal information that identifies you:
| Data | What happens |
|---|---|
| Name | Permanently replaced with "Deleted User" |
| Email address | Permanently replaced with a non-contactable placeholder |
| Phone number | Permanently erased |
| Password | Permanently erased |
| Profile photo | Permanently erased |
| KYC identity documents | Citizenship number, date of birth, address, ID photos, selfie and police clearance certificate are permanently erased |
| Login sessions | All sessions and sign-in tokens are revoked on every device |
| Pending verification codes | Permanently erased |
Once this step completes, the deletion is irreversible. We cannot restore a deleted account or recover the erased data, and you would need to register a new account to use tasko again.
Some records are retained after deletion because Nepali law, our payment partners, and fraud prevention require it. These records are kept in a de-identified form — they are no longer linked to your name, email, phone number, or identity documents.
| Data | Why it is kept | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
| Transaction, payment, refund and payout records | Tax, accounting and financial-audit obligations | Up to 7 years |
| Completed task history | Business records and settlement of past bookings | Up to 7 years |
| Ratings and reviews you left | They form part of another user's public rating; shown without your name | Retained |
| Dispute, complaint and damage-claim records | Legal defence and resolution of claims | Up to 7 years |
| Safety, fraud and abuse records | Preventing a banned user from simply re-registering | Up to 7 years |
| Internal account identifier and deletion log | Proving the deletion was carried out and honoured | Retained |
After the periods above expire, these records are deleted or irreversibly anonymized as part of our routine data housekeeping.
You do not have to close your account to correct or remove specific information. You can update your name, email address, phone number and profile photo at any time from Profile → Edit Profile in the app.
For any other data you would like removed, email [email protected] and tell us what you want deleted. We will remove it unless we are required to keep it for one of the reasons listed in section 5.
